Not exactly a tiny house, but certainly standing on a tiny footprint, this two story structure is one of the most visible private dwellings in the Fish Town district of Leland, Michigan. Fishing off the front porch is not only possible, it's practical. The motel next door has signs in each room stating: "No fish cleaning in rooms."

The tiny house stands on the narrow river that connects Lake Leelanau with Lake Michigan and across from a popular restaurant with many outdoor tables. So the house is a familiar sight in Leland.

Other buildings in Fish Town include the dock structures for several fishing businesses, the offices for the boats that make daily runs to North and South Manitou Islands, a sandwich shop that sells wonderful, five year old cheddar, an ice cream and candy shop, and several other clothing shops for the tourists.

The paint and stain salesman in town continues to strike out.
