Franz Bauer is an Austrian photographer who travels extensively and posts his photos on a website called PBase.com.

Mr. Bauer's collection, an extensive look at fascinating locations, is found at this link: http://www.pbase.com/bauer

Mr. Bauer has given TinyHouses.net permission to use a few of his images, which artfully document traditional structures in rural Scandinavia.

Some of these photos also display the warmth and depth of Sweden’s famous Falu Rödfärg (Falun Red Paint).

Mr. Bauer wasn’t able to provide much information about the individual subjects of the photos, but this link from Wikipedia gives some idea about the area. Image two appears to be an ancestor to America's motor courts with its row of tiny log cabins for rent.

Mr. Bauer says, "I am a big fan of all wooden architecture, especially in Scandinavia. The second image is taken in Eksärad. It shows the houses of a camping place some dozen meters opposite Sweden's oldest wooden church and an artistic graveyard."

A few pictures just show the little spaces between houses and their colorful touches. The sixth and seventh images look like a great getaway in the mountains.

The ninth image is from a collection of Norway, Autumn images by Herr Bauer. The landscapes are fabulous.

Would anyone like to speculate on what color the house on stilts will be painted? Before you decide, look at the link below: a Franz Bauer gallery specific to wooden architecture in Sweden:
