These are houses found in the Upper Peninsuala of Michigan.

The first image is of a tiny house in Copper Harbor, Michigan at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Barely larger than some family tents, this sturdy little resort is built to withstand the winters. Note the metal roof. The author imagines this building is used for the chance vacation by some downstater who wishes for more time in the north woods. It's on a corner lot!

The next image is one of the many small out buildings on the site of the "Hanka Homestead", a traditional Finnish farm on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan. It is a museum of restored buildings including the family home and barns and several log buildings. This tiny structure may have been where the milk was stored until taken to market. The third image is a great little rental cottage up in the Keweenaw area. Don't know much more about it, but it does invite the traveler to stop and enjoy the cool evenings inside a traditional cottage.
