Howdy, Love your website. Ive been running around preaching the merits of small living spaces for many years, and when I bought my 34 acres near the Trinity alps in Northern California, I built two small cabins to teach myself the basics of construction. I plan on building a small house on the property in the near future, but in the meantime, I have been using the cabins as a getaway from the madness in the San Francisco area, where it seems the philosophy is the bigger the better. The pictures of the cabin that Ive enclosed are from a few years ago, and Ive made some small additions since then, such as a deck off the back door. The cabin pictured is 10x10 feet, and all the furniture and stained glass windows were made by me. There is a sleeping loft with two dormers for good light, propane stove and catalytic heater, although on really cold nights I also use the kerosene heater pictured. The walls are 10 feet, and the roof is a 45 degree pitch which allows plenty of room in the loft for walking around. Cheers. Vlada |
