This little mystery was contributed by Suzanne of Cleveland, Texas. Here's her description: "I think the little house is adorable and would love to hear from others on how old they think it might be. Since it came from the historic Heights area which is by downtown Houston, Texas, I was kinda thinking it might of been a railroad section house. "It's a two room house with the original old beaded board walls and the bathroom on the back was added on. It will be moved to my property in January. It has been moved several times and the current owner is not sure of the age." You're right, Suzanne, it is adorable, a great reminder of simple things. Readers? Any ideas about the heritage of this building? Your helpful comments will be posted to this page. Thanks for your help. Update (Pictures 7 and 8) Suzanne reported the arrival of the Whiskey Creek house at its new location and sent these remarks on June 22, 2005: "I bet you wondered if I was ever going to get this tiny house. Well, finally I did on Wednesday! It's like having an adult size playhouse. I have a lot of renovating to do but I will keep you updated as it progresses." Write to HouseMaster@TinyHouses.net Parker Croft of Middlebury, VT, someone with more than a casual interest in architecture, has suggested: "It may be a Sunday House. Built as a place to stay when you drove in for church, and it was too far to drive back to the ranch that same day." | ||||||||
