Traveling north on M-22 out of Traverse City, Michigan, the hustle of the big town dwindles with each mile. The hot, pounding concrete gives way to quiet asphalt north of Suttons Bay. Salute the Frozen-Foods sign on the abandoned, lakeside cannery, and youre on your way to Northport. Look at the palm of your right hand. Hold the thumb and little finger apart from the others: thats the lower peninsula of Michigan. The tip of the little finger is the northern-most point of Leelanau County. There you'll find Northport whos name says it all. Tie up at the marina, visit Barbs Bakery, buy gas, go to the hardware, have a meal, your feet will take you everywhere you need to go in this tiny heaven. The sign in the picture is at the southern edge of town. Slow down now because on your right will be some of the tiny houses displayed on these pages (Northport Too). While you're there, continue through town and find 5th or 6th street, turn towards the lake and go north on Bayshore Drive. On your left you'll see other classic, tiny houses in Northport. Thanks to Northport TinyHouses-fan Sheri Sutherland for the picture. To purchase a home of any size anywhere on the Leelanau peninsula, she's the one to call. sheri@realestateone.com Real Estate One, 511 E. Front St., Traverse City, MI 49686, 231-995-3549 | |||||||
