| HELP - Housing Every Last Person Carib Daniel Martin, and Rob Bragan built the HELP house as a response to Hurricane Katrina and the displaced population of the Gulf Coast. Built in a weekend with the help of neighbors, the relief design will temporarily house three persons in an 8' x 12' space. Small House Society A group dedicated to smaller dwellings and a simpler life style: The Small House Society. Tumbleweed Jay Shafer of Sonoma County, California, lives in a tiny house and sells plans for seveal designs. Tumbleweed is what many of us would like to achieve: a complete tiny house solution. Jay's tasteful website documents all aspects of his accomplishment. Belltown Cottages A project in downtown Seattle, Washington to restore three classic, tiny homes is documented at a site about Belltown Cottage Park. Two of the cottages will be used for writers in residence beginning the summer of 2003. ProHousing Describing the functionality of small houses and reasons for allowing affordable and appropriate micro dwellings into our zoning plans. The links on the website lead to several other topics of interest to lovers of smaller construction. The Cottage Company This web site details a commercial venture between an architect and a builder who build neighborhoods of tiny houses or cottages. The price tags may not be for the faint of heart, but the concept looks good. Ross Chapin Architects is the firm affiliated with The Cottage Company and has designed many of their projects along with others detailed on this site. The Tiny House Company sells plans and complete houses. Their book, "A Tiny Home to Call Your Own" is offered for sale at the site. Stiles Designs A library of appropriate building ideas for every level of construction experience. Two favorites are Cabins and Sheds.
